JUNE 25th - Concorde 2,
Brighton UK
(thank
you very much Laura for the scans and Jo for the review!!)
What
better way to spend a warm summers evening...arriving at the Concorde 2 on
Brighton seafront, full of excitement and anticipation, to be greeted my
Michael Franti and the boys playing football outside, and generally
chilling out before the show.
Willing
to stop and say hello, and take some pictures, both Michael and Radio
Active managed to make us feel welcome just by being there. Playing in a
great venue, the band really got the place jumping from the outset.
Playing
tracks from there new album - which as to be expected, are superb, and
some old tracks from "home" thrown in too, the boys kept on
going for nearly three hours. As the venue was quite small, it was
certainly an intimate gig. And as the evening progressed, meeting new
faces and enjoying that vibe that only Michael can create, it was
certainly the most warming and enjoyable time, and place to be.
Being
part of such a beautiful evening, and leaving with my friends feeling
sooooo good, my only wish was to be able to sit and share some more time
with Michael, one of the most spiritual, and free souls I have ever had
the pleasure of seeing.
